Thinking about how important a smooth first impression is for mobile

First impression matters a lot for me. If a game feels slow or heavy at the start, I’m out. I don’t even give it a second chance anymore. There are too many apps to waste time on one. I’d rather try something else quickly. Do you also decide that fast?

Re : Thinking about how important a smooth first impression is for mobile

Yeah, first impression matters a lot now. I don’t really give games much time anymore if they don’t feel smooth from the beginning. If something feels off, I just close it and move on. I saw this article https://xrlinx.com/blog/why-easy-game-a … n-android/ and it explains why that happens. Basically, if the entry feels slow or unclear, people just lose interest quickly, and I guess I do exactly the same thing without even realizing it.

Re : Thinking about how important a smooth first impression is for mobile

It's quite clear that the modern mobile user has a very low tolerance for friction. The sheer volume of readily available apps and games means that competition for attention is incredibly fierce. A smooth onboarding process and immediate access to core gameplay capabilities are vital characteristics that contribute significantly to a user's decision to continue engaging with an application. This is a consistent trend across a variety of mobile platforms.
