U4gm-Bad Impressions: Diablo 4’s Reliquary Battle Pass Becomes More Tr

Just when players believed that Diablo 4’s Reliquary system was merely flawed but could be improved, new information suggests it may actually be worse than initially criticized. With misleading user interface, diminished rewards, and hidden costs, the system now adds layers of frustration for those attempting to earn seasonal Diablo 4 items.
GameSpot’s analysis of the user interface reveals a risk of accidental spending: Claiming a reward with Favor Tokens for Diablo 4 items may show one button, while the following screen changes the “purchase with Platinum” function to that same button—without any confirmation. For players using controllers, this creates a situation for unintended purchases, wasted currency, and disappointment over missed opportunities to obtain desired items.
The Reliquary bundle scheme becomes even more concerning upon closer examination. If a player purchases one premium Reliquary containing exclusive items and later desires the remaining items, they forfeit access to the discounted full bundle. This results in paying more than necessary—all due to one impulsive or accidental purchase while pursuing Diablo 4 items.
Analysts indicate that Reliquaries provide significantly less Platinum than the previous pass—estimates suggest only about a quarter of what was previously available. This directly undermines perceived value, slows item acquisition, and leaves players feeling short-changed when trying to collect rare Diablo 4 items.
While Blizzard presents the system as providing “greater control” over how players earn and select their items, publications like Polygon and Windows Central highlight the backlash—stating that the Reliquary offers fewer options and is perceived by many as less rewarding for those hunting for Diablo 4 items.
For a franchise that depends on community goodwill, these missteps pose a risk of further erosion. Loyalty is fragile—especially when players feel that their purchasing behavior is being manipulated through confusing user interfaces, misleading pricing, and restrictions that make obtaining premium Diablo 4 items more challenging than before. If you want to know more about Diablo 4, you can follow U4gm.
